UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY

When a person goes to a fertility clinic he/she thinks, ?No way, I am infertile?. As a matter of fact infertility is on a rampage if we compare it even to not so recent past. It?s a fact that almost 10% of the couples who are trying to conceive face problems. Most of the times the problems faced by them can be pointed out by their doctor, but many a times it?s not the case. This brings us to the case of unexplained infertility, basically doctors are unable to find an actual reason for infertility and they coined this situation as ?unexplained infertility?.

When does it change from explained infertility to unexplained infertility?

If you are unable to conceive during first few months of unprotected intercourse, or if your doctor starts wondering for reasons of you not being able to conceive, it is not that you have unexplained infertility. In sheer medical terms, a couple can not be termed as infertile until they have tried intercourse without contraceptives for a year (average: twice a week). You may say that a year is a very long time for a couple who are trying to conceive but a lot of things need to come in harmony for a woman to get pregnant.
Firstly, if you go to your doctor there are some basic tests or checks that he would like to perform before saying that his patient has unexplained infertility. Most common among them is checking for the quality and the quantity of sperms produced by the man and for a woman that she is able to ovulate a healthy egg.

When the doctor says you have unexplained infertility??.

There have been numerous cases where couples have undergone every test that their doctor recommends and all the results come out as positive, even then they are unable to conceive. Or in other words a woman may be able ovulate a healthy egg on a regular basis and a man is able to produce healthy sperms regularly. For this moment the doctors have come up with the term ?unexplained infertility.?

For the couples who are experiencing this problem they need not dispose off all their hopes. In such cases medical intervention may be required, but in most cases it is successful. If the female is having a healthy uterus and is ovulating egg on a regular basis, then the doctor may suggest vitro fertilization. This is an expensive medical process but mostly it has provided successful results.

There are other options also available for the couples who are facing this problem. So if you facing such a problem then it is important that you talk frankly to your doctor and be open to the various options available. Ultimately you decide whether you want a baby or not but we know that even if we are facing problems to conceive the natural ways, there are ways that can be sought out.
